Swisspers Natural ‘ALOE Everything Balm’

I don’t know about you, but my eyebrows will never cooperate with me, and I always find myself struggling to make them look good and I am always on the hunt for good eyebrow products. In my desperation I tried something that I normally would never go for.

The Swisspers Natural ‘ALOE Everything Balm’ describes itself as “An all-purpose balm with healing and skin conditioning properties” and I know what you are thinking, why would you use a balm on your eyebrows?! However, on the front of the container specifically states that it can be used to “Sculpt eyebrows” which I though was a strange yet interesting concept.

The product itself is a green balm (it doesn’t leave a green tint though don’t worry about that) and I find that It works best when I lights just tap my finger in it, swipe it over my brows and then use a brow comb to shape them the way I want them to be. I find that doing this keeps my brows in place all day.
It is also a multipurpose balm and works great as a lip balm and on sunburn. However, as it is a balm if you apply to much it can have a tendency to make your eyebrows look almost greasy but most of the time this is not a problem.

I have also found since using this product on my eyebrows that my eyebrows are growing quicker and I find they are looking fuller than normal which is a plus!

I think that as a whole this is such great value for money. Even compared to something like ELF wet look lash and brow gel mascara which here in Australia retails for $3,and is about the cheapest thing in store for eyebrows this still blows that out of the water. This product retails for around $7.95 but is 50ml and with the amount you use in the long run costs you next to nothing compered.

So, if you are in the market for a cheap eyebrow product or are looking to help grow your eyebrows a bit, give this a go I don’t think that you will be disappointed.

Rimmel - Match Perfection Foundation

The Rimmel London ‘Match Perfect Light Perfecting Radiance Foundation’ (the foundation with the unnecessarily long name) is my all-time favourite foundation and one that I have continued to repurchase, and also turned a lot of my friends onto loving.

This foundation comes in a wide range of colours (I use 200 soft beige) and is perfect for everyday wear. I would describe this as medium but buildable coverage and very easy to blend.  I apply this foundation with the Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman ‘Expert Face Brush’ (a brush which deserves a review of its own) and I find that this gives me the best result. However, I have also been known to apply this with just my hands and that works well also.

This foundation leaves you with a dewy finish and looks great with or without a finishing powder. I have always been one to worry about my foundation looking to orange but since wearing this foundation and asking friends I have never once gotten a yes to the question “Do I look orange?”  In fact when asking one of my friends (who is a boy, so I knew he was going to be honest if it was) I got the response “no, you never look orange” which just added to the list of reasons why I love this product.

I also am still in high school, which means I’m not technically allowed to wear makeup, and this foundation has passed the test with all my teachers. However, to be fair they will very rarely pick someone up on their makeup. Maybe only if you wore eye shadow or lipstick, but never the less this is totally wearable to school and I think is able to look super natural. But as I said before can be buildable so when I wear it to parties I usually use two pumps instead of one and a little bit.

That is another great point about this foundation is that it comes with a pump. Fun story, when I bought my first bottle of this the lid was stuck to the pump and I just twisted it and poured some out onto my hand, which constantly thinking this would be so much easier with a pump, later to discover that if I tried to pull up instead of twist I would have taken the lid off and seen the pump anyway (Good one right?).
One thing that I have found able this foundation is that it is moisturising, however if you have particularly dry skin it works best with another moisturiser under neither. However I would describe my skin as ‘normal’ and I use it without a moisturiser or a primer and I still love the results.

Overall, I love this foundation and will continue to have it as a staple in my makeup bag. It is super affordable retailing at around $17.95 depending on where you buy it from (I usually buy mine from K-mart or Priceline) and is just an all-around great product that I would recommend everyone have a try.

Bondi Beach

World famous Bondi Beach, although not something you can buy this place is defiantly worth a review! Sunshine, sand and a great atmosphere are they least you can expect from this beach in Sydney NSW.  Lunch by the beach, a bit of a swim, a tan, or even beach side ice skating in the winter time are all things you can expect when visiting!

Not only great food with a great view but also possibly a sighting of one of the famous life guards from the Australia TV program "Bondi Rescue" leaves you without a dull moment :) Also for you instagram enthusiasts or even budding photographers the photo opportunities are endless. Not only from the beach, but the amazing graffiti artwork that lines the beach, all make for great shots.

Overall this place doesn't need much talking up, the amazing white sand/blue water beach all make for an adventure that can not be missed!

Also taking into account these photos were taken during winter, with an iphone 4S

90's Costume Theme Party

If you are anything like me when you hear theme party your first thought is ooo that's cool. Then you think about it for a little while longer and the pressure of having to not only think of but find a good costume starts to sink in.

Going to a 90's party you have your  main options: Grunge, Spice Girls or Fresh Prince fashion and Double Denim. I have discovered that you don't always have to go that far out of your way to find some stuff to make a creative and fun 90's costume. With this in mind I first went to what I already had at home looking for fun bright things to wear, and I went straight to my sock draw. I think that bright fun socks would be perfect for any 90's costume, and they are fun as well.

I decided to go with the purple socks with the watermelons on them just because i think they are super cute :). The purple socks are from Cotton On, the green ones with the cat are from K-mart as is the teddy bear and strawberry socks.

Once I had decided on wearing the socks I remembered that I had a green top that would be great with it, plus Mum told be that pastel colours were big in the 90's and i decided to add a denim jacket with it because everyone knows denim was HUGE!
The light green top is from Cotton On and the denim jacket cropped with 3/4 selves from Jay Jays (i think).

I also knew that I wanted to wear my hair 1/2 up 1/2 down with a fun scrunchy in it and have big curly hair. I found these two super fun ones at Top Shop. But I decided that the orange one looked the best, and I love the cream detailing on the outside, I though it was more fitting for the 90's style.

After I had all these pieces in mind, I went to some second hand / op shops with some friends to look for some second hand retro 90's clothing, or anything fun that I could add to my outfit, and I think that I found the perfect thing.

They have a huge platform which is 90's in itself but the best part is........

That they have wheels!!! Now they are from a second hand shop so i made sure to spray the inside and only wear them with socks, but I think they are so fun! And also will be a conversation stater at the party :) I also think that im going to add some bright fun shoe laces.

Overall, I think that theme parties are super fun, I paired this whole outfit with a tight fitting black skirt as I wanted to keep the focus on the hair and the shoes and though that double denim would take away from       that. However, I hope that this have given you some ideas for your upcoming costume parties!

Essence Eyeliner Pen

My all time favourite eyeliner pen! This is the essence eyeliner pen in "Extra Long-lasting", which has a pen tip applicator which makes it super easy to use and get a precise line. The nib of the pen is flexible yet also sturdy enough to have complete control. Super easy to get a nice thin line or those fancy cat eyes, which never turn out right for me haha :)

The eyeliner as it claims is super long lasting and also holds up very nicely in water. As it is a liquid eyeliner it has an almost shiny look once dry but nothing to dramatic. Also another plus of this eyeliner is despite its staying power ( which is great! ) it is super easy to get off at night. Water will do 90% of the job.

It is also a super cheep eyeliner i picked mine up for around $4.95 and it was money well spent, excuse the horrible photo quality, the iphone is all i have for now.

Feeling Sad Today

What did i do wrong?

Where is there always someone better?

What is wrong with me?

Why am i not enough?

Today I felt sad, and i know its not just me that feels like this, we all do. We are all human and a downside of this sometimes means we feel sad. Today i feel that way. I don't know about you but sometimes i think that it all gets to much. Like the world is moving to fast and i cant keep up. I cant live up to what others expect of me or what i expect of myself.

I think that everyone was down days where something knocks them down, and if you say you don't you are lying. No matter how good you life is everyone has bad days. Sometimes i feel like im aware that its just a bad day and i know its going to pass and tomorrow im going to be able to get myself back up and everything will be fine.

Other times, like today i know its going to be a little longer. I know inside that this is nothing compared to the other struggles that people face but that dose not make it any easier right now. I think what i am trying to say is that sometimes it just takes a little longer to get back up. You just have to trust in yourself that you are strong enough that eventually you will be able to get up and everything will be ok.

But i think being ok is so subjective, i think that everyone has a different definition of what is ok. Weather that be being happy or just not being sad. I also think that its ok not to always be ok. And that i think everyone goes though the same sought of thing and i have learnt that you have to put enough trust in yourself that you are strong enough and maybe right now if you are not strong enough that those around you are, and they will drag you up by your hair if they have to.

Today i put my trust in tomorrow, that it will be better. I hope that you can do the same and know you are not alone.

I am sorry that this isn't a review, today i just wanted to share my feelings and i hope that maybe this helps just one person.

Beach Getaway In Your Own Backyard

If you live in as it likes to be called radadelaide, you are probably well aware of how truly rad it is not. If you are anything like me you are always looking for somewhere cool to escape to and i think i have found the perfect place!

South Australia's hidden treasure Second Valley  is a small town about 2 hours drive from Adelaide, and trust me it is well worth it! Not only does it feel like a holiday because you are away from everything familiar but even on a bad day you will be glad you made the trip! With friends in the car and loud music the drive is half the fun anyway.

Second Valley has an amazing white sand private secluded beach (which every time i visit is practically empty, especially compared to anywhere around Adelaide). The beach has such clear water you will not even believe.

A personal favourite activity of mine to do with my friends there is snorkeling. There is an amazing snorkeling area just off from the jetty with amazing underwater views that are protected by the surrounding rock so you don't have to worry about the waves if you are a beginner like me!

If you are a little more adventurous Jetty Jumping is also a popular and fun activity that heaps of people get involved in. If you are on the more observant side, the opposite side of the jetty offers amazing views from the cliffs which you can climb. I know what you are thinking, but don't worry you don't have to go up very far to get breath taking views. Any pictures that you take in the water or from a height will look like you are on a tropical island, an instagram worthy pictures in unavoidable.

If you are wanting a bit more of a getaway than just a day road trip there is also a caravan park right on the beach front. A caravan park also means a kiosk and hot chips for you and your friends to share on the beach!

Pretty much a fail proof activity which i would highly recommend!

Also side note, when i last went and took these photos it was not even during summer!
